Trade Show Booth Do’s and Don’ts! When exhibiting, do: Wear comfortable shoes. Do dress according to the rules established by either your
company or the event itself. Do stay hydrated and caffeinated. But
use closed containers to prevent accidents. Do plan for breaks every two
hours. Don’ts! Don’t sit. Avoid sitting in the
booth unless you have a specific medical condition that make standing difficult.
This is part of active boothing: looking alert and ready to converse. Don’t eat in
the booth. Don’t look unavailable by reading or playing with phones, tablets
or computers. Mints are okay, but don’t chew gum. Don’t drink alcohol even if it’s
a ‘wet’ show. And while we’re on this topic, don’t show up to the exhibit hungover.
Don’t congregate in clicks with your coworkers, or turn your back towards the
aisle. Don’t wait around for traffic. Are things slow? Stand at the edge of the
aisle and use your icebreakers!
