THE WORST AD EVER MADE

THE WORST AD EVER MADE

*śpiewa* Naprawdę staram się nie pomijać reklam, będąc uczciwa dla innych youtuberów. Ale jest ta jedna reklama, którą muszę pomijać, bo gra mi na nerwach *śmiech* Jest po prostu taka głupia. Na samym wstępie chciałabym powidzieć, że nie wszystko dotyczące tej aplikacji jest głupie, i wytłumaczę to później w filmiku. Ale powoduje u mnie zażenowanie. Obejrzyjmy. No wiecie, (ona) zaczyna nową pracę, To jej pierwszy dzień w nowej pracy, I jest całkiem słodka #relatable (możliwe do połączenia xD) Ta dziewczyna: Wiesz o co chodzi? Serwisy i inne Witaj! (wytłumaczę, że Marta się bulwersuje bo dziewczyna popełnia podstawowe błedy np. were – być w 3. osobie, we’re – my jesteśmy, tzn. my robimy) Nie powinna napisać then (potem) z i (chudy) xD Jeśli jest taka głupia To był bardzo dobry dzień Potrafię nie być prawdziwą idiotką, dzięki aplikacji, którą zainstalował mój szef Tak… Grammar.ly. Pa! Napisy wykonał PolishGuy48

  1. I'm a native speaker and this was definitely cringy. I did try the app and I noticed it was correcting my all ready correct words.

  2. Writing a perfect sentence is like child's play. But with the French langauge, it's not! Because there are full of grammar rules, when it comes to verbs! Whenever I have to speak French, I always have to focus on the grammar… The pronounciations are easy tho…

  3. As a native English speaker and an English teacher, I use a spell checker. I often make mistakes while typing just because I don't proofread. I'll leave out a word, type the wrong word (because of muscle memory) or whatever.

As for Poles… I see so many basic mistakes from some people, like "som" instead of "są" or "tesz" instead of "też".

  4. The "Poland" in the library was part of a section of James Michener novels. I recognized "Space" and a couple others. He has a reputation for being boring, but his novels can be very interesting if you love history and "Poland" was one of his best.

As for the app itself, educated Americans and even Canadians take some liberties with spelling and grammar in texts, emails to friends, and online comments, but in a professional office setting, this is extremely rare in my experience. People who would need such an app would be looked down on.

  5. This is one of the most ignorant comments about a life saving app, especially if you have to write a shit ton of stuff on a tight deadline. You can make a ton of simple typos or use the homonym for a word you're writing just because you're fucking stressed.
And yes. People have disabilities. I'm a TEACHER with dyslexia. I can deal with it most of the time and I don't do mistakes while writing on the whiteboard, but if I type I sometimes do dumb typos.
Yes, write an official email to someone, when you have 5 minutes for it, and spell and grammar check it on time! Not only does this not make me cringe, but these issues are more common with intelligent and educated people than with people who have learning disabilities. The more information you have in your head and the more issues you have to deal with on a daily basis, the more basic things like spelling and grammar tend to go out the window, because your mind isn't focusing on them.
Congratulations! You do NOT have real problems.

  6. Videos are cringy, definitely. But I kind of see how the app can be used as of proof read when you are try to type fast. You may not notice missplaced apostrophes, commas or obvious typos. (Hope this is typo-free 😉 )

  7. I dont get how people can be that bad at writing in their native language. When I was in school, we always had heavy penalties for spelling and grammar errors. Hell the last class I took had a teacher that would take of 10% of your score on written assignments if you had five or more errors. I also don't understand how you can get a job typing things when you're such a train wreck that you make basic mistakes like your and you're. How was your resume not so typo ridden it got rejected?

  8. hi marta,  I like your videos.  Here is mine.  Kevan Lockhart sunshine of your love cover.  I'm the drummer boy. I left this band 6months later and have been in one since then. I'm not a biker and I don't want a motorcycle. Look at Belmont park Dayton ohio. I just got my ass kicked at disc golf there by some friends way better than me. so much fun today. now I am leaveing the library to go shoot pool and drink more beer. then home. you are cooler than me me marta. p.s. why they recorded this song I don't know. don't care for it. we look drunk tired and stoned in my old video. more later. my guitar player is my guitar teacher.

  9. I agree that the ads are awful. Grammarly might even be doing a disservice to itself with these horrible ads because people might slap the 'lame' label on it and not bother trying it. With people's grammar in the state it is in, this would be a helpful tool for teaching better word usage and sentence structure (one of my pet peeves is someone who writes 'should of' instead of 'should've'; another is when someone says 'I could care less'). I consider myself a good writer, but I know I'm not perfect, and would probably benefit from using this.

  10. In my opinion that ads are awful but I like Grammarly it helps a lot. For example, sometimes I can for accident press CTRL and Shift and you know Y and Z are swapped etc.

  11. I know a native English speaker who literally doesnt know the difference between words like option and opinion -.-

  12. You're correct; those mistakes are about basic things taught in primary school (here in Canada and in the USA). However, these mistakes are often made by adult native English speakers.

It seems that the importance of correct spelling, grammar and sentence structure (including punctuation) is simply "left behind" after we're initially taught them in school. I have trouble remembering back to primary and secondary school with any accuracy about this, but I think we're not penalized enough in our grades for making these mistakes.

I also guess it's due to how prevalent these mistakes are; if you learn usage of a word (or punctuation etc.) from how your peers use it, then you inherit their mistakes. I was guilty of this for several years before I decided to investigate the basic mistakes I was making. Most people I know, however, aren't willing to put any effort into this; they consider people like me to be pedantic, instead of seeing how ridiculous and juvenile their written communication seems. They can be extremely defensive.

  13. Maybe because this is a racist, androgynist add. The only white males are in the background. All the lights on Chinese, black, brown, Latinos. Or white women. White males are exceptional writers, so they don´t need Grammarly. I´m feeling proud to be white right now!!

  14. yes I somewhat agree, I am a native English speaker I think it is sad that native speakers don't even know basics mistake then for than, etc, using good grammar is about expressing yourself clearly, it is better to learn for yourself not have some app tell you. I like learning different languages using youtube and every time this annoying ad comes on, so I wondered what other people thought about it.

  15. If that's the "most annoying ad you ever seen" you should watch more TV. Or get laid more often. Or get some perspective.

The only reason you broadcast that you "find it annoying" is to show the internet that you roll your eyes that someone can possibly mix up "affecting" vs "effecting" etc — in other words, you want to signal that you've got the IQ and others are idiots. Which is way more annoying that most ads.

Ever tried responding as a PR person to 100s of social media messages? Even seasoned Eng. Lit. professors can make spelling and syntactic mistakes and typos under pressure, when distracted and in lots of other situations. This has nothing to do with "knowing how to spell" or whatever.

  16. Man, This girl is savage! "If you don't know the difference between there they're and their, Y0UR A TO0L". 3:20      btw Grammarly said I spelt something wrong, Yes I have Grammarly 😐

  17. There's another ad for it about a girl writing a term paper, who struggles with it until she gets the software, and from there it's easy. She gets an A+ and a comment from the teacher about the wonderful vocabulary she used. I almost screamed at the screen because she basically cheated and got an A+. Also, ironically there was an ad for it on this video, but not the one I just mentioned.

  18. English is the only language I know, although I do live in Australia. So it tends to get a bit distorted. I agree with you. It hurts my ears to hear these ads. Every time I hear "Grammarly make's my writing better" I cringe. I suppose if he said "Grammarly 'improves' my writing/written communications, then he wouldn't need Grammarly.

  19. Ten moment, gdy nie umiesz nadążyć z pisaniem na wykładzie… >.< :''D
"pozostałe kwlifikacie zdobywa absolwent w systemie pozqa szkolnym a dor. Zawodowy , w tym szkolny powiniem pokazać zawiązki mię dy szkolnym i pozaszkolnym kształceniem z a zarem zróniwz szkolnym i poza szkol dor zawo ,skierowanym do prdniotów uczocych się którymi w szkołach młodzieżowych so uczniowych a adult shools i stysreemie poza szklny ADULTS."

  20. I totally second you. My main concern with such products is that it makes everyone lazier. People will argue that with an app like this you tend to notice and recognize mistakes rather better but eventually, you're so dependent on such a useless app that it makes you totally useless by this mechanical thing your brain does — hey, I don't need to look, just keep selecting the corrections and I'm done. In the end, you're still stupid, just good at fooling other people.

  21. If you're writing a paper where punctuation and things of that nature are part of the grade, I see nothing wrong with this app. To say someone has a disability bc they can't spell certain words is ignorant as fuck.

  22. I agree, It really bothers me when people don't use grammar, punctuation, etc. And I hate the fact that some people can't spell the most basic words, It is as if they're brain dead.

  23. OMG, whatever happened to developing communication skills and learning to write on your own! And I'm only 36.

  24. All they are doing is showing you how easy it is, why get so annoyed ? talk about worse ad ever come to UK, every ad break has a man who is objectified, naked, stupid or a loser, kids are growing up being told dad is a moron because 80% of the consumer is female, these ads even has a freckled girl in one of them, you don't see freckled girls getting jobs in commercials, the only problem if you had to say something is the diversity could be a bit more subtle.

  25. If you still want to improve your vocabulary, there is a really neat game I like playing that's free. It's called Freerice.com and it donates 10 grains of rice (through the World Food Programme) for every word you get correct, so you're feeding the hungry and learning words at the same time. The more you get right, the higher your lever/harder the words get. It gives you a word and then 4 options to pick from for the meaning. Correct shows that you're correct and the word does mean what you selected and you move on, but if you are incorrect it says Incorrect! and then says what the word really means. You see that word again in a few more turns before they let you move on to the next level up.

  26. I typed into Google how annoying those Grammerly commercials are and got this….LOLOLOL…..
    https://www.reddit.com/r/rant/comments/7tf5a7/i_hate_the_stupid_idiots_in_those_grammarly_ads/

  27. I think this video is quite funny because I can see how much this ads irritates you. 🙂

English is one of languages that is not easy to learn from. Every word has many meanings, different way to write and pronounce. It changes with the time. It means it takes a lot of memory even to learn one word. If you have not known, daily language is very much different from academic language., let alone technical words. Chances are mistakes can happen even if in the simple situation in which perhaps Grammarly can picks it up and save you for the embarrassment.

The reason this ads is so annoying you perhaps in a situation where one does not need Grammarly, they use Grammarly 😉

  28. These ads piss me off, especially the ones that display "Download Grammarly for free" at the end. It's ironic because "for free" is grammatically incorrect. Additionally, why would I want to download something that keeps nagging people about social justice?

"Mankind might be offensive to some."

Boo fucking hoo, cry me a river.

  29. It's because 90% of Americans are fucking morons. They don't speak English, they just shriek an English sounding noise

  30. Absolutely. I grew up in the 70's, before the Republicans destroyed our primary education system so that they would have more ignorant, fascist, misogynistic, voters. Damn. I misspelled misogynistic, and the spellcheck fixed it…:)

  31. 1:13 It's actually "than". Also I absolutely hate Grammarly ads because:
    1- I can't skip them;
    2- They're the only ads that appear on YouTube for me, even though I have Adblock Plus;
    3- I once downloaded it and it wasn't correcting anything, because "I have to pay for the premium version", even though they specifically mention in their ads that it's completely free;
4- When I had it, the ads would keep on appearing, and I still couldn't skip them.

  32. Grammarly lags like hell on my PC. Also their ads are atrocious. They turned off commenting because they know people will tell them off in the comments. Also your video has more likes than their ads on youtube.

  33. I totally agree with you … I have awful spelling and my punctuation is free form mostly ,l I`m a native speaker ( Scots) and i agree with you that learning English as a second language gives one a better understanding, however this app is a mess , it is like someone eating steak with a spoon and the ad tells you which way up to hold it 🙂

  34. brainless, scared, STUPID STUPID SHITS, fucking brain hijacking tuition sucking devil run company- NO ONE NEEDS YOU… fucking assholes.

  35. hive five for the upload. I was JUST talking to my girlfriend about this ad tonight!! absolutely horrible!! i could soap box blast these grammarly morons till the sun goes down. And how we as Americans are the front runner in history for the dumbest, self diluted, lazy, narcissistic, and just plain dumb group of grown children this rock has ever encountered… actually that about sums it up hahah… disclaimer: this is a comment not a work related email so idcare what mistakes are nestled in this. :p

  36. >be me subbed to guy who has his lamborghini in garage
    >gets his promoted videos
    >ok.jpg
    >probably everyone who has a mobile yt account gets a mafia city ad
    >the other guy was like not logged in [PC/desktop] so he get either a wix logo ad, a drawing udemy ad, or write the future grammarly ad
    >apparentlythatshowgooglesbestestimationofinterestswork.png

  37. As a spanish speaker I will give my opinion about this advertisement, starting for…, well, knowing that english grammar is very easier than spanish I would say that this app is very useless for "english's native speakers" why ? because it supposed that a native speaker must to know at those ages how write very well. Do you know how many grammar ruler there are in spanish ? if you have study a bit of spanish you should know it, but please, english does not have even tilde or dieresis, they only have to memorize the writting of theirs own word and that's all. Conclusion… people that use this app so much are ignorants but feel like stupids, there is many people inside the spanish community that do not know writting this idiom, and their fails are also simple mermorize mistakes.
If you saw some mistakes in my paragraph please dont be idiot, I aint a english speake

  38. You're absolutely right.

Can't stand these darn Grammarly ads. The app is only necessary for people who don't have a brain and didn't bother to study at school.

  39. The problem with Grammarly and their ad-campaigns is the political agenda they are trying to promote; with the excuse of helping the uneducated masses, they standardize language and impose the liberal-progressive ideology on their users. An example: a word like "illegal immigrant" is corrected in "undocumented alien". Many other could be done. One only needs to see their videos, the actors, the body-language, the setting: a non-world, where whites are absent or marginalized, a non-world of Starbucks-purchasing, MacBook-using, cool-and-hip-appearing, blacks, gays and asians.

  40. Fuck Grammarly. I hate every commercial they've ever made. Every goddamn time I have to watch another Grammarly commercial it makes me want to punch babies and mainly because everybody on earth knows that NOTHING is free. Why would they spend that much time and effort to develop a program if the developers are going to get nothing out of it? They are getting something out of it – it's fucking spyware and probably developed with seed money from either In-Q-Tel or some other company that has ties to the CIA like Google. I especially hate the fucking commercial where the girl says "if you write ANYTHING on your computer, you NEED Grammarly". No I fucking don't; I graduated goddamn high school. They'd might as well be saying "If you write ANYTHING on your computer… we want to read it – sincerely… the CIA". And why do they have all comments turned off on their ads? Because people like me exist that call them out on their bullshit and point out the fact that it's fucking spyware.

  41. Grammarly is for millennial office drones who can't spell or think for themselves, who need apps to tell them what to do in every area of their lives. Useless company with apparently way too much cash to burn.

  42. At 2:42 gammarly reduces this poor lovely girl to tears – thats despicable! >:(

  43. Very thorough video. I have several problems with Grammarly, (regarding their privacy loophole too), cringe ads are on the top of the list. recently when I saw the "There is no such thing as a perfect writer" "ad", I just googled "cringe grammarly" and landed on your video. One hundred Thanks.

  44. you are so dumb that is a bad add but why all the hate also I saw a even worse one that I skipped trying to watch this video

  45. Honestly, I HATE Grammarly's ads and ALWAYS skip them, without fail. The fact that people my generation and younger now need an app in order to properly write in their own native language infuriates me. What's even more discouraging is that, most of the people who need to lean on apps like these ONLY speak English. They're monolingual, and can't even get THAT right! As someone who has a passion for language and linguistics, it makes me sad that people my age need apps in order to not come across as total morons in writing. Not only that, but, grammatically, English isn't even that difficult. I'm sure you, as a speaker of a Slavic language, would agree. If young people would just take the time to pay attention in school and look up from their freaking phones for a god damn second, they'd have no need for Grammarly. I hate my own generation. Millenials are destroying the English language. We now have to rely on software to write FOR us, correcting what are, essentially, elementary level mistakes… So yeah, I skip Grammarly's stupid ads, too.
