[NEW] Facebook Ads Strategy For 2019 | Campaign Budget Optimization (CBO)

[NEW] Facebook Ads Strategy For 2019 | Campaign Budget Optimization (CBO)

What’s up you guys Jason Wardrop here and in this video, I want to break down kind of a newer strategy with Facebook ads for 2019 and so this is something I’ve been testing out lately and This this feature this option has actually been inside of the Facebook ads platform for a few months now but this is the first time I’ve actually dove in and Experiment with it and you guys can see I’ll get into my results here in just a second But it’s called a campaign budget Optimization so some people call it CBO campaign budget optimization and basically what that is is typically if you look at a normal Facebook ad campaign What you do is you set your budget what you’re gonna spend for each campaign at the ad set level So let’s say you know This is how it is kind of traditionally right you go through your credit campaign and let’s say we’re gonna have one ad set targeting your look like Audiences 1 AB set targeting people visit your website another one targeting people that are interested in you know Let’s say dogs or whatever. It is the market that you’re in Then each one of those ad sets Let’s say we’re gonna be spending 50 bucks per day on each one of those ad sets So if you had 10 ad sets within one campaign spending 50 bucks a day, you’re at roughly 500 dollars for the day but the cool thing about this campaign budget optimization is that it’s gonna actually Optimize based off of the campaign so you can go through Let’s say you want to go and have 10 ad set. So it’s harga ting like this one right here is real-estate interest This will look like audience I’m gonna show you guys here in just a second what I’m actually testing out right now Which I highly recommend you guys doing as well I’ve got I think what is the daily budget on this? I think this one just start now I think was just 200 bucks a day But you can see it Divis it out between these two audience or between these two ad sets So it’s more setting the budget at the act that the campaign level Excuse me, as opposed to the ad set level whereas when you are setting the budget at the ad set level Let’s say you had two to three ads within that ad set Then Facebook is going to go through and show whichever ads are performing better more often whereas with the campaign budget optimization Facebook is actually going to show whatever ad set is performing better more often so you can see right here You’ve got the real estate interests That’s a really good cost per lead right there six dollars because I my normal goal is trying to get eight dollars or less But you can see an amount spent only seventy-eight Versus this look like audience right here seven dollars and thirty-six cents was still pretty good. But you’ve got six hundred fifty-four dollars spent so What they do is it just take whatever ads that you’re doing. They’re gonna test it out You can see this one is still learning this one The learning is complete because it’s obviously like dialed it in its spend a lot more money So it’s got a lot more data Now, what does this mean for you guys and how to actually go through and set this up? Let me show you guys exactly how to set this up Why I did what I did here and some different ideas and things to think about So, let me just jump over into this demo Facebook Ads manager accounts I’m just gonna for fresh and guys the key thing with this is you always got to be testing different Facebook ad Campaigns different features functions all that stuff. So it’s all just comes down to testing You know I actually tried one campaign out to be completely transparent Using a very similar strategy as this and it was a different ad so maybe that was more of the ad But it didn’t work out as well Okay so that’s the thing it all comes down still the testing and just because you test think once something once and It doesn’t work doesn’t mean it doesn’t work It just means that you got to go through and maybe optimize the ad or something like that there so This obviously you can see is a good ad because it’s performing fairly well But if we come over here, we create a new campaign. I’m gonna show you guys exactly how this works So let’s just say it’s a traffic campaign and this works for any objective. So we’re gonna say traffic Demo okay and then right here this is a campaign budget Optimization or CBO? So this is a new Facebook ad strategy for 2019 that I’m showing you guys here it came about like back in 2018, but Like I mentioned I haven’t really tested this out until this point so we turn this on Instead of setting the daily budget inside the ad set. Like I was telling you we’re gonna actually set it at the campaign level Alright, so let’s just say I want to start out just kind of like start out testing at 250 dollars a day That means if I’m gonna have three four five ten adsense we can have as many as we want It’s going to go through and distribute that $250 throughout all those ad sets and obviously like I showed you guys over here and my main ads account It’s gonna go through put more of the money towards whichever Ad set is working the best. Okay now, let me let me go through them I’m obviously like if you’re like watching me do this like Jason already know how to do this well Let me actually go through and show you guys some different strategies of things that you can test out That are some pretty cool things and this is actually what I’ve done over here And so just hang with me here guys k so if you come over here to they could continue what I am going to go through and test out next and This is kind of I already kind of did like a I scratch the surface with this campaign right here You can see I’ve got my look-alike audience, and I’ve got my real-estate interest I’m actually gonna try I’m gonna do two more ad sets on this new campaign that I’m actually me starting today All right. So this is actually my 1% look like audiences and Typically what I usually do is for each ad set I do 1% 1 1% look like audience So I do a 1% look like audience of all my buyers a 1% look like of all my leaves 1% look like if maybe anyone’s engaged my pay like I have those on all separate ad sets but what I did different here is I Have this one ad set and I just combine all of my look like audiences my 1% look like audiences into this one ad set Okay And then I’ve got the real estate interest instead of going through and having each other’s interests Separate it within a different ad set to test what interest works better. I Threw all the interests in here and then I’m going to add two more ad sets into this new campaign just so you guys know exactly what I’m doing and I’m gonna have a second look like audience where it’s gonna be all the one to two percent So it’s gonna be a little bit more broad I’m gonna throw all my 1 to 2% look-alike audiences into that ad set and I’ll show you guys how to do that too here in just a second and Then the third the fourth one is going to be basically all of my warm traffic anyone. That’s hit my website Anyone that has engaged my Facebook page anyone that’s you know become a lead in the past and so will have these four two one’s an interest-based targeting a 1% look like on the ad set a 2% look-alike And then also you’re warm traffic doing a campaign budget optimization Facebook’s then gonna spend wherever it finds the best performers. Okay. So for this one, let’s just say this is a 1% Oh 1% look like audiences. So I’m going to come down here and when I choose the audiences I’m just gonna choose this and I should have some popped up right here. So I’ve got this is obviously the demo account So I don’t have all my different look like audiences, but I’m gonna do a 1% here I’m also gonna do this 1% where traditionally I would have these each in a different ad set So not saying that that’s not the right way to do it anymore But this is a new strategy you can go through and test as I show you guys It’s been working actually pretty well throwing all of my look like audiences into one ad set right there. Okay, so then coming down here We’ll just go through hit continue Create the ad and then what I do over here, I’m not gonna actually fully do it cuz this is my live account But what I would do is come over here and I would just duplicate the ad set Once you finish creating your Facebook ad here, okay? So once you’ve finished creating this Facebook ad it’s gonna pop up it’s gonna have like, okay Here’s your 1% look like audience then just hit duplicate then you say duplicate right here and Then we’re gonna name this instead of just the two copy we’ll say it’s a 2% look like audience and then we’ll come down here and see how I’ve got all of my 1% look like audiences in there. I would delete them all and here I’ll just show you guys how to do it. Just delete them all and then I would go in and I put You see my look-alike audience is right here my 1 to 2 percent now key thing here guys You don’t want to do the the 2% the full on 2% look like audience You only want to do the 1 to 2% because you’re already capturing the 0 to 1 % look like audience in this from this initial ad set so you don’t want to be like Bidding against yourself so you won’t only get the 1 to 2% So I’m going to go through here Add all these 1 to 2% right there got more down here and then you see down here I’ve even got a two to three percent now if you want to go and you got a super broad market you could even have A different ad set doing all the two to three percent, right? so then once I get all those in I hit publish and I’m just gonna discard this cuz obviously This I don’t want that going right now but then once again I’d hit duplicate again and a my targeting instead of like one percent look like two percent look-alike or the interest I’m gonna throw in all of my warm audience. So my warm traffic People visit my website watch my videos engage my Facebook page Pretty much all of that. Okay. So anyway guys, hopefully this video was helpful if it was go ahead Give it a thumbs up go through try this strategy out. Let me know in the comments down below How it actually worked for you. You can see it’s working Well right now, um, I had one other campaign and it work as well, but I think it was just the add more So today I’m me going through and expanding this out. 1. You put out great info Jason but I have no interest in dealing with all the geek technical nuances behind the scenes in FB when I'm working w/ agents. It's too mind-bending and lulls me to sleep. Kinda like why I opted out of accounting class in school I suppose. I'd rather have something available that doesn't require me or my assistants to deal with the FB ad posting nitty gritty but still provide leads and results for our clients.

  2. Thank you for this video 🙂 I subscribed to you! Did I understand that right, you are throwing every audience in there? The audience based on the targeting, the custom audience (retargeting) and your LAA?

  3. Thank you…I was wondering about this…and have stuck with you as the main trainer on FB ads. So does this go into effect soon…. meaning your only option…

  4. Hey dude! Thanks for the vid.

How do you do it with different ads in your different adsets? Do you run f.a. 5 variations in adset 1 and then those same ads in adset 2 because it's a different audience (if so, are they the just copied ads or are actually one of the same, so do you then use post ID to run the same ad in a different adset) or do you run again 5 different ads? Highly appriciate it mate, thanks!
