How to set up a Facebook Ad in 2019 | New targeting method for facebook ads 2019


what is going on YouTube it’s John here
with non-stop affiliate and in this video I’m going to show you how to set
up a Facebook ad in 2019 that’s going to save you a ton of money now to get
started all you have to do is go into your business ads manager and click on
create a brand new campaign now if you don’t know how to use the business ad
manager in Facebook you could just leave a comment down below and I’ll be happy
to make a video giving you guys a walkthrough on how to use your business
manager in Facebook so once you click on create a brand new campaign you’re going
to get taken over to this page right here where you’re going to have the
option to create either a track a campaign engagement app video general
lead generation the usual reasons I make a Facebook ad is either to get people to
my website to get people to like a post that I created or to get video views so
those are the three ads that I usually create is either a website traffic add a
post engagement ad or a video ad so you usually do them the same exact way on
the back end but right here is where you choose exactly what you want to do for
now we’re gonna do all traffic add add to get people to my website but if you
wanted to do a post engagement all you would have to do is click on engagement
and as you can see down here you could either give Facebook Likes for your page
or you could get a post engagement we’re just gonna start you know it’s whatever
post on your page that you want people to start seeing to get familiar with
your page maybe a little bit more you go ahead and click on this and create a
brand new campaign well for now we’ll just go ahead and click on traffic come
down here and go ahead and put in your campaigning click on continue so we
could get started now what you’re going into now is your first ad set when you
create a campaign you’re going to have an ad set inside of it which is going to
have all the details of your campaign who you’re targeting the interest how
much your bidding how much you’re spending all that information is going
to go on here once you create a brand new asset once you create this as it you
can create another ad set inside the same campaign to maybe target different
people target or different audience different demographic or a different
location maybe a different country so your Adsit is always inside of your
campaign and you can create as many ad sets inside your campaign as you want
when you create an ad set that’s what’s going to make the difference of your
targeting your budget span your allocations so you’re going to want to
create a few different ad sets to target different people and test different
audiences see exactly what’s working best for your campaign so let’s go ahead
and get started once you get into your ad sit all you have to do is go ahead
and put a name for it we’re gonna go ahead and leave it on website we’re not
doing a dynamic creative which is just basically your the picture that you’re
using for your ad or we’re not really having an offer going on right now all
we’re gonna do is get people to our website so come down here and now if you
have a custom audience already if you already created an ad before you could
use your custom audience and put it inside of here but we’re gonna skip over
that since we don’t have a custom audience already so the first thing
you’re going to do is add your location right here you’re going to add all the
possible locations that you want your ad to be targeting now if you want the
top-tier countries it’s always going to be the United States Australia the
United Kingdom Canada and I forgot the other one you Zeeland I think it’s New
Zealand so those are the five top tier countries the US the UK Australia New
Zealand and Canada those are probably going to be those are usually the most
expensive countries to advertise like if you just go ahead and do worldwide you
could literally target the entire earth that’s on Facebook and it’s gonna be
very very cheap traffic but it’s not going to be very very good quality
traffic so I usually try to stick with the five top two your countries but
depending on your offer you know that’s where you’re gonna go ahead and put the
location that you want to start targeting maybe it could be a certain
country or it’s excluding other countries so you want to go ahead and
put the exact country that you want to be targeting or the state if you want to
target our certain location maybe just your location you can put a literally or
city in there so we’ll put Chi cago Illinois’s as you can see right now
we’re only targeting people in Chicago if you want to go ahead and up the
radius you know maybe you want to target 25 miles and within Chicago 30 miles
within Chicago you would go ahead and change that right here just go ahead and
set it up and you can go up to 50 miles around the Chicago area or whatever
location you’re trying to target next we’re going to go ahead and input the
age so depending on your offer you know maybe you don’t want young people maybe
you don’t want to allow older people over 65 you can go ahead and select the
exact age range that you want for my targeting I usually stick to about 25
through 45 thought other people that are usually looking for the offer that I’m
promoting and those are the people that usually actually have money to spend
when they see an offer being uh promoted to them so that I usually stick through
25 to about 48 now again depending on whether you’re only targeting women or
men or all you could choose that right here and you can also input their
language also all depending on the offer that you are promoting whatever offer
you’re promoting is going to really depend on all this information right
here next we’re going to add in the detail
targeting now this is where it gets very interesting guys and it’s very very
important because you want to make sure you’re targeting the right audience so
to give you a quick example let’s say if I was promoting a painting of Michael
Jordan a basketball painting right so it’s a painting of a basketball player
obviously I would I want to start targeting there’s people that love
basketball so I will just go on here and start putting in basketball now like I
mentioned this painting is of Michael Jordan and obviously a very famous
basketball player so I’ll probably add that in there to people that are
interested in Michael Jordan now what I usually want to look for is to make sure
that I at least have about a million people inside my potential reach so
that’s okay right there but now we’re gonna make it a little bit more
interesting we’re going to go ahead and hit down here narrow audience now like I
mentioned this is going to be a painting of Michael Jordan so it’s a painting of
a basketball player and when you go ahead and click on their
rural audience you can start crossing interest on people so I can start
targeting people that like Michael Jordan and people that like paintings so
right here I would obviously start putting painting I could also add in hard paint painting
art right here so now what I’m doing guys is actually crossing interest
something on targeting people that like painting and targeting people that like
Michael Jordan both at the same time Facebook could literally do that now as
you can see my audience my potential reach has gone down a little bit to 600k
but that’s okay right there that’s still enough people for the budget that I’m
gonna be using so that’s exactly how you want to be doing your targeting what you
want to do is go ahead and target depending on your offer
you could really narrow down on your audience target people that are of two
different interest in the same ad now that’s really important guys because you
could really narrow in on your audience so make sure you’re targeting the right
people for your offer so let’s say you could right here depending on what your
offer is your first one could be something similar to your offer maybe
other pages or other websites that are very similar to your offer and over here
you could be it could be people that are actually already spending money on the
type of offer you’re promoting so you could really cross audiences and really
narrow in on your target customer now let’s keep going
now connections we’re really not doing this right now because you can start
excluding people who already liked your page or exclude friends or people who
like your page so that’s later on if you want to take a look at that if you put
it up an ad and you don’t want people that like your page already to see that
ad you can go ahead and click exclude people who like your page but for now
we’ll just go ahead and delete that now this is where it gets very very
important guys what we’re gonna do what Facebook always automatically does is
put you on automatic placements what we’re gonna do is click on edit in
placements because as you can see Facebook is gonna put your ad everywhere
just everywhere in all the networks that they have which is really really really
going to bring up your cost and actually have you spent a lot of money that you
really shouldn’t that’s a big mistake that I made when I first put on my
Facebook ads before I really learned our system and the process through a few of
my mentors you really want to make sure you go on here and click on only feeds so all you have to do is click on the
little Facebook and then click on feeds so that way when someone’s scrolling
through their Facebook they’re gonna see it exactly in their feed and all these
other ones you’re going to remove all so now you might get a warning from
Facebook as you can see like I did right there giving you a little warning but
don’t listen to that guy that’s just honestly trying to make you spend more
money on Facebook yet you only want your ad to be seen when people are scrolling
through their Facebook now that’s depending on you you know if you’re
putting up an Instagram ad you can put it on here or an audience networking
which I actually don’t do none of that other stuff guys but this is just a
whole bunch of different random traffic that you really don’t want to your own
website or to your page you really just want to make sure you have that targeted
traffic which is in the feeds or one more thing if you’re doing a right side
column ad that would be over here so when you’re on your Facebook page and
you’re on your computer you’re going through Facebook you’ll see on the right
side that there’s actually ads there if you want to do one of the right side ads
you would remove everything else and leave it on right side column right here
guys and you can see a little example where right here where it’s showing you
that’s the right side column and so if you want to do one of those go ahead and
leave that checked right there and remove everything else but for now we’re
gonna do a feeds and like I mentioned make sure you only have that open right
there or here’s a messenger you definitely don’t want to be in messenger
unless that’s what you’re looking for unless you’re looking for any of these
go ahead and leave a check but we’re doing just a normal Facebook ad in your
feed we’re gonna leave it on feeds so go ahead and go down real quick guys I just
wanted to mention depending on the device that you want to use you either
want to target people that are on mobile or on their desktop if you want to
target both you could obviously leave them both checked but if you’re at if
you want your ads will only be on a desktop you would leave it unchecked
desktop and uncheck mobile as you can see the only desktop now that’s
depending on your offer maybe depending on your landing page maybe it’s only set
for desktop or it’s only set for mobile that’s up to you and right under there
you’re gonna get the option to target devices so maybe you only want to talk
get Apple or you only want to target Android that’s also up to you right
there you have those options depending on the offer you are promoting now let’s
go ahead and continue also if you only want to target people that are using
Wi-Fi that means that their pages might load up a little bit faster maybe your
website has a lot on it so they’re gonna need a lot faster internet so you you
would go ahead and click on only Wi-Fi next we’re going to go to budget and
scheduling so right here we’re going to leave it as link clicks that means when
somebody clicks on your ad and actually goes to your website that’s when you get
charged instead of it are being charged every time somebody abused your ad could
you could go ahead and switch it to impression as you can see down here or
landing page views we’re gonna get charged only when somebody actually
clicks on it and goes to our website which is what we want right there next
is cost controls now for now we’re going to leave that empty to see exactly how
much it cost to get people to our website we’re gonna leave that empty and
once we start running the ad we’re gonna see exactly how much it’s costing to get
people over to our website now if you want to go ahead and enter something in
there you can but I’d recommend you just leave it alone for right now until you
see exactly how much each click cost and after then you go ahead and set up a
daily budget now what I usually like to do is start off with about 10 or 15
bucks when I’m running a test ad that means I’m just testing around the ad
seen exactly what works seem what people are paying attention to because honestly
guys whenever you set up a Facebook ad those first two or three days are
honestly only going to be testing seeing if your ad even work seeing that people
are reacting to it seeing if people are actually liking it and I’ll seeing that
people are clicking on it because you can put up an ad put up tons of
different ad sets and you know if no one’s paying attention to it no one’s
clicking on it obviously you got a problem with your ad so those first two
or three days are really going to be to see what’s working for your and see if
it’s actually converting and people are paying attention to it so we’ll go ahead
and leave that at about 10-15 dollars so you don’t over spend on testing now when
you go to come down here you can go ahead and let your ad run continuously
and that means when you start your ad today it’s going to continue to run
until you shut it off which is fine that’s what we want to do or you could
start instead or start and end date to your aunt so if you set a start and end
E and we’ll start right now and it will
stop in two or three days whatever you choose but we’ll go ahead and leave it
at run continuously that way we could choose to turn it off so if you go on
your back-end manager tomorrow so if you go on your business manager tomorrow you
don’t like the results you could go ahead and shut the ad off right away and
they’ll tell you down here that you’re going to spend no more than $70 per week
but you could just go ahead and shut off the ad before you spend $70 if you
choose to if the ads going good you could go ahead and let it run now right
here guys when you get charged we’re going to go ahead and switch it over to
link click now I already mentioned that that’s basically only getting charged
when somebody actually clicks on the ad and goes through the website so we’ll go
ahead and leave that on link click and leave the rest as it is we’re gonna hit
continue and go to the next step actually creating the end now as you can
see right here it gives you the option of the exact ad you want to create
whether you’re doing a single video or slideshow or single image so you would
just go ahead and choose the one that you want I’m going to go ahead and click
on single image just for example come down and give you guys a quick example
so all you would do is go ahead and click upload the photo that you want for
your ad and by the way Facebook has free images back here so when you’re creating
your ad maybe you might need an image that you don’t have Facebook has a ton
of free images from stock images that are honestly real good guys so let’s use
this one for example we’ll do like a business one as you can see it’s coming
out here and here’s where you go ahead and build out the rest of your and you
know let people exactly know what’s what your ads about as you can see the text
that I enter here is updating over here on this side you’re going to go ahead
and enter your website URL and put a headline and everything’s updated and as you
entering the information everything updates on this side over here so you
can see exactly what your ad is looking like you can go ahead and click on learn
more maybe download contact us whatever you’re at your opera or your ad has to
do with you could change it up right here if you want to and it’s going to
change over here to contact learn more whatever you choose to or if you don’t
want to button at all you can go ahead and click on no button and over move it
from your ad now to continue with this example I’m just going to use a post
that I made already from one of my pages so you can see exactly how everything
would look like and if that’s what you want to do if you already have a post
onto one of your pages that you want to start promoting all you would do is come
up here and click on use existing post where it says right next to where it
says create ad we’re gonna pick on use existing post also if you want to give a
name for this ad right here you could go ahead and name this ad because later on
you could create different ads and give each ad our name so I would go ahead and
do that now right here you could click on the Facebook page that you want to
start using I’ll click on this one when you click on here you’re going to see
all the Facebook pages that you have in your business manager so just choose the
page that you want to start promoting the post on and then right here you’re
going to get to click on the post I’ll go ahead and click on this one move
myself out of the way and click continue and here it is guys this is exactly what
it would look like as you can see I have with the scription I have a title eight
fun toys your dogs would love to play for Christmas so you can see exactly
what an ads going to look like after that you would just scroll down to the
bottom and click confirm and that’s it guys as you can see I got the traffic
example app just posted up right here it’s in review right now you know
Facebook’s gonna go through the review process make sure that ads not breaking
any policies or terms before it gets approved and it starts running but as
soon as it does get approved you will start seeing traffic right away
so make sure you do pay attention and it’s going as you planned now if you’re
doing affiliate marketing I have a lot of people always tell me that their ads
do not get approved and that is because they’re doing direct linking that is
when you grab your affiliate link and put it directly on your Facebook ad you
never ever want to do that if you do it enough times your Facebook Ads account
will probably get suspended so you never want to get your affiliate link and put
it in your Facebook ad what you want to do guys is create a landing page for
your offer for your affiliate link go ahead and create a landing page when
somebody clicks on your ad they go to your landing page and from your landing
page they go to your offer and that’s usually when you’re collecting emails
once they go into your landing page you’ll go ahead and collect their email
after they submit their email and that’s when they go to your offer page now if

option if you’re looking to create landing pages for your Facebook ads or
for your Google ads because basically any type of AD platform that you’re
using Facebook Ads Google Ads they never ever allowed the REC linking so you
always always have to create a landing page so if you need a landing page
