HOW TO GROW YOUR YOUTUBE SUBSCRIBERS USING FACEBOOK & FACEBOOK ADS | Grow Your YouTube Channel

– In this video, you’re gonna learn how to grow your YouTube channel and grow your YouTube
subscribers using Facebook ads. Let’s get into it. (popping) G’day internet, my name’s Paul Ramondo and on this channel I upload
tutorials about Facebook ads and I also upload new vlogs about my life every single Monday. So, if either of those topics
sound interesting to you, consider dropping a subscribe. So, in today’s video, we’re
gonna basically be going through how you can use
a small amount of budget on Facebook ads to grow
your YouTube audience and grow those YouTube subscribers. So, with that said, I’ll
see you inside the video. Alright, so the first thing
that we’re gonna need for this video is the force link which
causes people to subscribe to your channel when they
enter in the URL, right? So, this URL from my
channel looks like this. So,
it’s
YouTube.com/c/paulramondomedia?sub_confirmation=1, right? So, I’m gonna leave this force link in the description down below. Simply all you need to do
for your channel is replace Paul Ramondo Media with your channel. Cool. So just to show you that this works, I’m gonna enter it into the
browser now and hit enter. So, obviously I’m not
logged into my channel and you can see that its
got this pop-up window that’s telling me to confirm
the channel subscription and then obviously what
you’d have to do is just go and hit subscribe. So, that’s what we’re going
to be linking people up to from our Facebook ads. Alright, so now we are
in our Facebook ads, or our Facebook Power Editor. So the first thing that
we want to do is go hit Create Campaign and wanna
type in a campaign name, so let’s just call it
VLOG008 SUBS for simplicity and I’m just gonna leave
the Buying Type as auction and then the Campaign Objective
is going to be Traffic, okay? Now I wanna create a new Ad Set, let’s call it Facebook Page Likes, and then we wanna Create a New Ad, I’m gonna call the ad
YouTube Channel Growth. Cool. Hit Create. Alright, so now we wanna
set a campaign limit. I’m just gonna put $100 for
the purposes of this example. Then I’m gonna go to
Ad Sets and I wanna go and click on this little
pencil button here. Alright, so we wanna
set a Daily Budget first or a Lifetime Budget for the
purposes of this example again, I’m just gonna set a Lifetime Budget, let’s call it, let’s go $50.00. Now what we wanna do is go
and set the campaign schedule, so I want it to start today, so we’ll make it start today
at 11 o’clock per time, 11:15 per time and I want
it to end on Saturday, not in July, but in June, on the third and we’ll call it 11:15 AM on Saturday. Alright, so now what we wanna
do is we wanna go down to our Audience and we want to
to define our audience. So, the first thing we wanna
do is just get rid Australia, ’cause I wanna put it
out there to everyone. I’m also not romantic with
who I’m advertising to, so I’m gonna go all the way down to 13 and 30 and 65 plus everyone. I’m gonna put in languages
’cause I do have people that like my pages from non-English
speaking countries. So I’m gonna type in
just English and hit all. And I’m gonna go back up to Locations and I’m gonna type in here worldwide. So it’s gonna target
everyone in the world. So, now I wanna go down to Connexions and and I’m gonna go Add a connexion type, Facebook Pages, People who like my page. Now you can target whoever you want, but basically my goal at
the moment is to syphon off everyone that’s already brand aware, everyone that knows who I am on Facebook. And I wanna syphon them off
to grow my YouTube channel, right? So, that’s why I’m only going
to be advertising to people who like my page and you will
see that I’ve got about 3,400 that I can reach. So, now what I wanna do
is go down to Placement, I wanna go Edit Placements, and I want to change
my device type, right. So, I only wanna target
people that are on desktop, and I know what you’re thinking, like if you have any
experience with Facebook ads, you’re probably like, why you only wanna
target people on desktop, it’s gonna be hella expensive, bro? And I’m like, well yeah,
but here’s the thing, if you advertise on mobile and you link off to your YouTube channel, Facebook is gonna open up
your YouTube channel in its Facebook browser, not in
Safari, not in Chrome, but in the actual Facebook browser. And, you know, 99% of the time,
people are not logged into their YouTube channel
when they’re on their Facebook mobile browser, right? So, what that means is if we
were to spend money trying to grow out YouTube subscribers
using Facebook ads on mobile, people who it that subscribe button, but then they have to jump
through of extra hoops in order to be able to even
subscribe to your channel because they have to actually
login to their YouTube channel, their Gmail account,
and all that kind of thing before they can actually
subscribe to your YouTube channel. So, it’s a waste of budget. Trust me, I’ve tried it, not worth it. We’re gonna be targeting people
on desktop only, alright? So, now what we wanna do
is just untick Messenger. I’m gonna go down here and we just wanna make sure
that we’re only targeting people in feeds, forget right column. Oh, and you know what, we can
use the right column for now, just to see how it goes. And we’re not optimised
just for link clicks, that’s cool, no worries. And that’s gonna be our first ad set. Alright, cool, so now that
we finished that ad set, we just wanna go and close
this and go and create our ad. Alright, cool, so now
we’re in our ad section, you just wanna go and open up the ad editor
by hitting the pencil tool. Cool. And we wanna go down and create a new ad. And wanna go down and
click Video/ Slideshow. Now, the URL that we’re gonna
be putting in here is the one that we mentioned before, which
is the sub confirmation URL. Remember just customise yours by removing my username from there. Again, it’s in the description below. So, I’m gonna copy that and
I’m gonna paste it in here. Cool. And wanna go put a display
link, which is optional, but I like to do it. So, I’m just gonna put YouTube.com. And we wanna select a video and I wanna go down and
select the studio tour video, ’cause that’s the one we’re promoting. Alright, so wanna go and change
the Call To Action button now and make it Watch More. Alright, cool so we wanna
put a headline for the ad, let’s just out Subscribe On YouTube. So, now we can edit the
newsfeed link description, which is gonna go
underneath this headline. So, let’s just put something
related to the video. So, I’m gonna go with
new vlogs every Monday and maybe I’ll add an
additional call to action, like, click watch more to subscribe. Alright, cool, so now what I can do is go and edit the actual text,
which is gonna show up here. Now, let’s just say I was
just doing a straight up video vlog promo to my audience, so I’m just gonna use
the same call to action, or the same video description
that I used in the actual vlog when I promoted it organically. So, I’m just gonna paste that in here. And that is pretty much it, right. So, now all I need to
do is just close that and hit Review Changes, and hit Apply. And basically now it’s
just uploading my video ad and this call to action
YouTube subscription URL ad to Facebook ads and it’s
gonna be pushed out to the people that like my Facebook
page over the next few days and hopefully it will result
in some more subscribers. Anyways, that there
concludes this tutorial. If you did enjoy it,
please drop me a thumbs up and if you wanna learn more
about Facebook ads marketing or check out silly vlogs about my life, which I upload every Monday,
consider subscribing. I’ll see ya next time. Peace! (exploding) (rock music)

  1. Hey…just did everything you said to do when creating my ads…I have the force link to subscribe to my channel in my ads…but when I get reports on link clicks I don't get any subscribers…why is that? I've gotten 63 link clicks so far and not ONE subscriber from it.

  8. A quick question Paul. Wouldn't be better to select video views as the campaign objective as it's going to be a video ad? I mean if it gets optimized for more views, there will be more people who like the content and want to see more. What do you think?

  9. can I still promote my channel through Facebook ads? in 2018. some say Facebook will ban if you do that is that true

  10. I have my oun website on Facebook http://m.facebook.com/tooley189/ and it's hard to get people to look at my YouTube channel I put it on Facebook Google Plus Instagram I put it on all different website and it's so hard to get people to come to your YouTube channel

  14. Sick video! Thanks. When I use "http://youtube.com/c/reconstructed?sub_confirmation=1" with the name of my YouTube channel, it says my account exist. – how can I fix this?

  15. The 'Desktop Only' tip in this video alone makes it worth watching. Cheers! Excellent tip for beginners.

  16. I would love to know if this actually worked. I am planning on boosting my next video on Facebook but no sure whether it contributes to my YouTube views as well.

  17. The desktop thing is definitely a golden nugget but as far as confirmation that is a "confirmation " after they actually subscribe. Youtube will never practice forcing ppl to sign up to any channel. I see what you saying though. It's still sending traffic to a channel. Again the desktop thing is awesome. Will definitely save a lot of grief for many youtubers.

  18. Great tips, Paul! Never thought about the "Desktop Only" tip on the ad, good insight. BTW, what was the result of putting the ad in the right sidebar?

  19. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE ADVICE. THIS GUY IS THE MAN!!!!!!!!! I'VE EVEN STARTED MY OWN YOUTUBE CHANNEL!!!!!!! 20. My first week with 20 subs i think am famous now isn't it??
The secret is don't be shy to subscribe other people, the won't do so.

  21. heyyy ive been doing youtube for a couple months now and it kind of making me discouraged this is something that i really wanna do but i also want people to watch but its not really reaching people i try to do what the videos say but im just not getting anywhere somebody please helpppp me

  22. Hey Paul, is this method still working in 2019? besides, what if l didnt have likes on my fan page, can l still do the same methoids or first get likes to my fb pages?

  23. I never knew about the subscriber link, great tip!

I used desktop and android, assuming that on android the users will be signed in to their account. Desktop got virtually no reach, I might try it again and leave it for a few days.

I set up a Facebook ad for my channel with a 12 second promo from a video. The video advert got hundreds of likes, and about 700 views in a few days from a reach of about 12000. Many shared the Facebook video advert, and gave nice comments.

Looking at the destination analytics in Facebook's ad centre, the video itself was the only clicked destination, no one clicked on the Subscribe button. No one went to YouTube from the ad. It seems odd that a good proportion clicked like, wrote comments, and shared the advert – but no one click the link to subscribe.

What would you expect the ratio to be in the case of reach 12000, 700 views, and 300 likes on the advert? e.g. is the scale of 12000 reach way to small to get subscriber link clicks?

I created a separate ad for 2 videos, the adverts got all the likes. It's like they watched the video, but decided to like in Facebook and share the advert instead.

  24. Thanks for making the video but does this still apply in 2019? I followed your directions exactly but when inputting the link into AdManager and clicking "select video", my YouTube videos don't appear. I can only upload a video. So I just ended up uploading my YouTube thumbnail instead. The problem is when they click the link it only takes them to my YouTube home page, and not to the specific video.

  25. Great content mate. Thanks will be trying these tips see how I go trying for me 100 subs. Have a lovely day people 👍

  26. The tip to promote on desktop instead was golden! Thanks so much. It would’ve been nice to see a before and after of your subscriber count aswell after placing the Ads 🤗✨

  27. Well, I've run an ad, but the landing page is my channel url. The force link doesn't work for me, too. I put around 10$ for a day as budget, and see >400 clicks overnight, with just 5 subscribers increased. I don't think it's worth it. Anyone knows the most efficient way to promote our channel through Facebook Ads?
