How to Create a Facebook Ads Account

How to Create a Facebook Ads Account

For business, Facebook is
very much a pay to play arena. So it’s pretty important
that you incorporate advertising on Facebook into your content strategy. You can use your advertising
for any point in your sales funnel. Whether it’s initial
exposure and awareness, lead generation, and
ultimately conversions. Advertising allows you to ensure visibility among your existing fans and to go beyond them, and
increase your exposure to those you haven’t necessarily
connected with, yet. Not only that, but your existing fan-base
actually allows you to springboard and create things such
as lookalike audiences. You can expand your reach based on existing fans, and
the fact that they like you and you can take advantage of that and increase your awareness
to those who are similar to them or those who aren’t. And the big pro of Facebook advertising is that it has a very
advanced targeting system And it’s a lot more
of a natural exposure as opposed to those intrusive ads. Whether it’s in broadcast media
when you’re watching television or even the pop-up ads that you see when you’re scrolling through sites
and you’re not expecting to see those kinds of ads
that don’t really fit. Facebook is a lot more
of a natural place for this. So I’m going to help you
get setup on Facebook Ads just to setup your account so that you can start
creating ads and capitalizing. So in order to start advertising for our business page that we set up we have to take a second step,
and set up our ad account. Now there are two
routes you can take to set up your ads account,
and I’ll explain to you the benefit of each and I’ll walk you through each
way to set up your ad account. The first way is actually setting
it up through your personal profile on your personal page, starting here and I’ll get there in a second. Now this is for you, because it’s the simplest, if you have just one page to manage. That means
one store front, one location then this is the way for you. The other way to set it up is through
Facebook’s Business Manager page. This enables you to set up more than one account. So if you are an agency or if you have more than one
location or page to manage you’re going to want to go
through Business Manager. Let’s start with the first route. Setting up your account through
your personal Facebook page. So you log in to Facebook.com on your personal profile. Just anywhere on the top navigation bar,
you click on the downward facing triangle. Once you’ve done that,
you can click on Create Ads. Your ads account will set up and it’s preparing your new ad account. You’ll see this if you’ve
never been here before. Otherwise, it’ll load a
previously created account. And this is the page that will show up. Now before we start creating
campaigns and ads, we have to set up a couple things. So we’re going to click here,
in the top 3 horizontal lines. And we’re going to click
on Ad Account Settings. Then we’re going to set up the
Billing and Payment methods and then we’ll be ready to go. So we click Ad Account Settings and we’re just going to fill
out some basic information. We’re just going to scroll
through this big page. I’ll walk you through it. You can choose an Account Name,
very much whatever you want to do. It can be your business name, your
personal name, anything you want. You answer the question – if you’re advertising for a business
purpose, or let’s say personal most likely you’re
going to click yes here. You enter your Business Name
that you’re advertising on behalf. Enter out the address information. If you’re an agency,
you’re going to click Yes that you’re advertising on
behalf of someone else. If you have a Tax ID number that’s relevant to you,
you fill that out for invoicing. Then you can add Account Roles. So here, you can add other people
to help manage your account. Whether you want them
to be a second Admin. You’ll always be the Owner because it’s under
your personal account but you can add somebody
who will be able to create ads and look at the performance of the ads. Or you can compartmentalize and
have one person taking care of the ads or one person just taking
care of the analysis of the ads. When you click Add a Person, you’ll see you can enter a friend, somebody that
you’re connected with on Facebook and choose their level of access. Then you can go
through the Notification options. Check or uncheck any
boxes – what you want to receive. Then you’ll click save changes. If you ever do want to
deactivate your account you can always come back here
and click Deactivate Account. But right now we’re saving our
changes, and our ad account is setup. All we have to do is add a Billing &
Payment Method, and we’ll be good to go. So we click again on those 3 bars. Billing & Payment Methods. Add a Payment Method. We just fill out whatever
information we have Credit Card, Paypal etc and done. Now we’re ready to create an ad. It’s that simple, and we’ve setup our
Ad Account through our personal page. Now we’ll go into the second path of setting up your Ads Account. As I mentioned you can set this up,
and it’s ideal to set it up if you are running more than one page. Because then you can
separate the permissions and you can separate the payment methods and the invoices and receipts etc. You’re going to log in to business.facebook.com and then you’ll log in to
your personal account. Now click Create Account and then in just a couple quick
steps, you give your business name and information ready to go. Once again we’re going
to click on business settings. and on this row of
scrolling navigation we are going to click on Ad Accounts. Add New Ad Account. Create New Ad Account. Fill in the information. And if you notice here, you can
actually choose the currency you want to be billed in. We set it up, and we’re good to go. Now here we have to add ourselves to give ourselves permission
to use the Ad Account. And we are going to choose
from, again, different roles. We’re going to give ourselves the Admin permissions. Check ourselves, save changes,
and we’re ready to go. We set up our Ad Account, and now we’re
just going to add a payment method. We can either click on
Payment Methods, which I recommend or you see in the top columns
here, you can click on Payments. So if we click on Payments, and
then View Payment Methods we can add a payment method. The reason why I suggested you just click on that prompt,
the ‘Add Payment Method’ was because if you go this way you only have the Credit Card option whereas if you go the previous way, you
actually have some more options. Once we’ve set up our account and our payment methods,
we are ready to go create an ad. And that’s it. We have our Ad Account set up. If you chose the Personal Page route then you’ll see your Ads Account under a personal account. And if you set it up
through Business Manager it will appear under
that business name. That’s really the only
difference in display. However, they are both available to reach, and start advertising with in the Ads Manager shortcut which can be found on
your Facebook homepage on the left sidebar. Additionally, if you set it up through Business Manager, then
you can always go back to that website, and access your
Ads Account through there. Now that your Ad Account is finally set up and ready to advertise I wanted to help you
with one more thing. If you click on the link below, I give you two things. #1: I give you some swipe copy

  2. DO NOT use paypal, facebook doesnt like that. use your own credit card or business card. I literally had an ad running for 1 hour and then they told me theres suspiscious activity with my payment method and they disabled my account. They will not get back to you, you will have to start all over. So once again, DO NOT USE PAYPAL AS A PAYMENT METHOD. Facebook has terrible customer service, actually I dont even think they have customer service.
