My mom would always tell us that you should always donate. My sister had started sponsoring a child through World Vision. So I was going to work, I was on the SkyTrain and I’m like “oh, I’m actually going to do this too.” We don’t see each other every day or anything but whenever they communicate there’s a connection through a child and family. They just become part of you, say extended family and friends that you have somebody in another part of the world. I always tell everybody that as an accountant I, you know, classify it as an asset, not an expense because we’re investing in the future. I’m not doing anything special or extraordinary but I can still set an example and if you just change one person’s life it’s extraordinary for them.
