  11. I said it before and I’ll say it again…people are focusing on the wrong things in contemporary society. I would much rather focus on what’s going on with current political policies rather than a commercial that tarnishes “traditional masculinity”. If you actually watch the commercial there is, as far as I’ve seen, no typical masculine practices- just dudes being jackasses. Obviously, Gillette would want to send a positive message for business. Look at the message that was supposed to be portrayed. Did Gillette illustrate their message the wrong way? Perhaps so. However, if you are secure with yourself as a man, you should not feel threatened with a 30 second commercial, that has nothing to do with you personally, conveying a “controversial message”. Are you happy with your job? Have you greeted your wife and asked her how her day was? Did you remember to spend time with your kids? Or perhaps, have you started that project you always wanted to? If you answered no to any of those questions, stop throwing out perfectly functioning razor blades and go participate in things that actually pertain to your life. People are so eager to be apart of something larger, regardless if it’s germane to their lives or not. This is exactly why people end up complaining about their lives (by focusing on insignificant things while neglecting their own progression in the process). Forget about irrelevant media topics and see what you can do to make yourself a better person- for others and for yourself. Perhaps, maybe, just maybe, you will go to sleep at night knowing that you are living the life you want and a life that very few people are willing to put the work in towards.
