Facebook teams up with Microsoft to detect deepfake videos

Facebook is teaming up with Microsoft and
several universities to better detect deepfake videos. The social media giant will invest 10 million
U.S. dollars to develop a new technology that alerts users… when a video has been doctored
to mislead viewers. Deepfake can be used to create realistic,
AI-generated videos… of real people doing and saying things that never occurred. The project is launched ahead of the U.S presidential
election next year,… amid worries the technology could be used to disseminate fake information
and impact voting results.
