Dear Future Generations: Sorry

Dear Future Generations: Sorry

Dear Future generations. I think I speak for the rest of us when I say Sorry. Sorry, we left you with our mess of a planet. Sorry that we were too caught up in our own doings to do something Sorry, we listened to people who made excuses to do nothing I Hope you forgive us. We just didn’t realize how special the Earth was like a marriage gone wrong We didn’t know what we had until it was gone.. For example, I’m guessing you [probably] know it as the Amazon desert, right? Well believe it or not it was once called the Amazon rainforest and there were billions of trees there. All of them gorgeous and oh.. You don’t know much about trees. Do you? Well, let me tell you trees are amazing. I mean we literally breathe the air They are creating they clean up our pollution or carbon, they store and purify water give us Medicine that cures our diseases food that feeds us which is why I’m so sorry To tell you that we burn them down Cut them down with brutal machines horrific at a rate of [Forty] Football Fields every minute That’s 50% of all the trees in the world gone in the last hundred years why? For this. And that wouldn’t make me so sad if it weren’t so many pictures of leaves on it You know when I was a child I read how the native Americans had such Consideration for the planet that they felt responsible for how they left the land for the next seven generations Which brings me great sorrow because most of us today don’t even care about tomorrow? So I’m sorry I’m sorry that we put profit above people greet above need the rule of gold above the [Golden] [Rule] I’m sorry we use nature as a credit card with no spending limit over Drafting animals to extinction stealing your chance to ever see their uniqueness or become friends with them Sorry, we poison the ocean so much that you can’t even swim in them But most of all I’m sorry [about] our mindset cuz we had the nerve to cause this destruction progress Hey Fox news if you don’t think climate change is a threat. [I] dare you to interview the thousands of homeless people in Bangladesh [see] wow while you were in your pit house nestle their homes were literally washed away but need their feet due to rising sea levels and Sarah Palin, you said that you love the smell of fossil fuels Well, I urge you to talk to the kids of beijing who are forced to wear pollution. Masks just to go to school So you can ignore this but the thing about truth is it can be denied Not avoided I’m sorry future generations. I’m sorry that our footprint became a sinkhole and not a garden I’m sorry that we paid so much attention to isis and very little to how fast the [ice] is melting in the arctic I’m sorry, we doomed you and I’m sorry we couldn’t find another planet [and] time to move [to] [I] am You know what cut the beat? I’m not sorry This future I do not accept it because an error does not become a mistake until you refuse to correct it We can redirect this how let me suggest that if a farmer sees a tree that is unhealthy And they don’t look at the branches to diagnose it they look at the root so like that farmer We must look at the root and not to the branches of government and not to the politicians run by corporations we are the root that we are the Foundation this generation it is up to us to take care [of] this planet. [it] is our only home we must globally warm our hearts and change the climate of our souls and Realize that we are not apart from Nature We are a part of nature and to betray nature is to betray us the save nature is to save us Because whatever you’re fighting for racism or poverty feminism gay rights or any type of equality it won’t matter in the least Because if we don’t all work together to save the environment We will be equally extinct so Hey guys for the past several weeks I’ve been here in Africa the heart of Africa witnessing the horrific destruction of the rainforests which inspired me to write this piece Wire for is being destroyed that such an enormous rate for this Today, we live in a world where destroying trees? Makes you money, so what can we normal people do about it? One way to directly fight the destruction is to stand for trees by standing for trees Not only can you save the lives of trees help forest communities and protect the rights of animals to live in their homes? But you will also balance the amount of pollution that you yourself give off your everyday activities Making you a part of the solution and not the problem This is the option that I chose but whatever way that you choose to stand for trees do it because a wise man once said When the rivers are all dried up and the trees have been cut down Man will then realize that he will not be able to eat Money.

  1. You are right, we can’t eat money, I wish we could go back into time and never invent cruel things… and we could live a beautiful life, and not technology in our heads, all we do is just sit around and don’t do things that we have to do to help! We ourselves, ruined the earth, we are truly monsters sometimes.

  2. You know, scientists are saying we've got until 2040 to change or there's no going back. We need to get our shit together and fight for our planet. To the few people that read this, you can make a change. Throw away litter on the streets. Walk, instead of drive. Turn off the water when you're brushing your teeth. Even these small things can make a difference. Especially when all 8 billion of us pitch in. Who's with me?

  3. Yo dude ea why aren't on TV I mean words be truth man
I especially love the vid what is schhol for I wanna show it to my teacher

  4. Thai made me cry I’m only 12 and knowing I might not be able to to somethings I do now in the future makes me so sad

  5. If each of the 20 300 000 people who have watched this gave even only one $/€ to foundations protecting our forests, imagine the change it would make. If all those people decided to change their lifestyle, even slightly, and to fight for what is not only RIGHT, but also NECESSARY.
    IMAGINE THE IMPACT.
    BE THAT PERSON.

  6. If CO2 was black instead of transparent, we would have cared (and even probably solved it) a long time ago.
Sadly, it is not black. But that doesn't mean its impact is reduced in any way.
We must be aware of it.

  7. dear future generations
i’m writing this on august 13, 2019. i am sorry that we polluted the earth so much that this video had to be made. even sadder that it was made 4 years ago and the environment was already bad. in 2019 it is even worse. i can’t walk the streets of new york city without smelling the gasoline and bad air quality. and we have no one to blame but ourselves.

  8. People won't save the earth it's sad because they will once all of us start dieing we shouldn't care about money we should care about the invierment we are living in

  9. I’m trying to cut down on plastic use. I’ve been recycling and I haven’t been using paper plates or plastic utensils for months.

  10. Who will win?
Money, Popularity and Good Grades: Dislike
    Intelligence, Creativity and Health: Like
Gas, Climate Change, Intense Wealth, Fame: Comment

  11. this this is all our presidents and governments mistakes, they want this for money and a bigger population in there countries they don't care about our nature our animals living through out these forest, jungles and more, we need to start stand up for our nature instead of our phones

  12. Sometimes i wonder, why are the comment sections saying "sorry"?
The world hasnt ended yet, hope is still alive, if we do something that "sorry" would be pointless. Instead of saying "Sorry" you should do Something.

Saying "Sorry" to future generations wont help but what would? Saving the future generations. Don't say sorry as if everything is going to end here, we still have time, and if we dont waste it, we can still make it.

  13. Don't get me wrong, I am sorry, but I'm not stopping there, I'm taking action, every day, polute less, help to clean up the mess we as a species made both physically and financially and I do not even care if any of you join me, but if you do, I salute you! Let's save the planet we live in or at least give the best try we can!

  14. I swear if 20 million people just spread the word and try to change this planet we have to save I don't know where to start but I'm dam ready I can't change it alone I'm young but all I hear and see us that money is all I need but don't we need the trees don't we need the animals don't we need the earth

  15. "We will be equally extinct" please let's set aside political stances and help our planet. Let's stop wars and make peace. If war is the only way then so be it. But right now its not. We can eliminate the bad people of this world and save our home. This is our only shot.

  16. Dear today’s generation we need to get it together we will regret it terribly bc in the future we couldn’t have a home

  17. This touches my heart and I am asking so much from you or from everyone who is able to become president and cares about the earth to do so cause a couple of days ago I was thinking about how we have nearly destroyed the entire earth and that if I were President I would do everything in my will to make sure people actually use solar energy, wind energy, green energy, and water energy so we can save the earth and make a law saying people are never allowed to cut down trees unless they ask them and can only cut down about 10 trees but they must replant them if anybody else is with me please keep trying your best to make the earth a beautiful place like it once was do anything you are able to do please protect forestes

  18. I saw some of your videos… Your words were very deep, meaningful and beautiful.

Dear Prince Ea: Thank you for these words. I realise more things about life…

  19. Ur words are so beatiful and am not the only one who thinks this because theres people commennting now four years later and I hope people use ur words to take action because they are truely amazing

  20. My family lives in Bangladesh and my parents were born is Bangladesh. Right now I am here for vacation to visit my family but I see so many homeless people and people with masks on. The outside is so different from the USA and I feel so bad for everyone here..

  21. Wow – I have just started High school. And when I saw this title I thought it’d be something funny. But this was such a powerful speech. All my teachers are saying how it’s my generation’s responsibility to save the earth. I’m doing a unit on pollution. Some people say “nah I don’t wanna hear this crap, it’s depressing”. Well – it’s what we’ll have to face. I want to find out a way or material just as good as plastic but not as bad for the environment. I don’t want my children, not to know what the stars are, what magnificent animals look like, what the colour of the sea used to be. I don’t want them to not know how beautiful our earth was. So one way or another, us humans cause crap to happen, but we will solve this and we will fix it. In the future, we will be forced to change. Most of the things causing the environment to break down is stuff we WANT for comfort, like straws, when… we have mouths for a reason. A lot of people probably think “if I stop using straws.. ain’t nothing gonna happen”. Well what happens if everyone thinks that. Then nothing happens. Everyone CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE. By using a reusable straw or a cardboard one, you can save a turtles life. 👌🏽
So everyone please , just try something , like not using a plastic bag, or straw for a month or two. Spread the news. Make it a trend. Save this planet.

  22. People still don’t understand that the world isn’t gonna last forever, we caused this problem and we need to fix it

  23. The future generations is us, we can fix this it will take everyone and I want a way to speak out and make people realise but everyone thinks I’m just a kid, it’s true but we need people to bring together
