Hello A lot of people have been asking about the art tools that i use most of which are students so today i’m going to talk about papers that I used when I started drawing when i said started drawing I’m talking about before university one of the papers that i use back then is from Renaissance Because it’s one of the cheapest brands it costs 80฿ (2.6 USD) per book It’s cheap enough that a high school kid can afford and experiment on because it’s so cheap It was made in Italy too I’m going to take my past drawings and compare them with the one that i’m going to draw if i use the exact same equipment the same watercoloring book brush and Renaissance painting paper let’s see how will it turn out if we draw it now with limited time First, we’re going to have to admit that these two are student grade quality they’re not excatly professional quality Student Grade equipments are made for students and hobbiest they tend to be much cheaper than Artist grade equipments However, some brands have good enough quality to be use professionally Artist Grade equipment are expensive as they are made from specialize meterials such as cotton they can be wash and clean to erase mistakes they also support specialized paints that reflects light better in gallery atmosphere and more. the price and quality of Renaissance paper is O.K for beginners and i think that the price compensates for everything you can see that both sides are equally coarse that means we can paint on both sides of the paper two paintings in one paper this drawing paper too you can draw on both sides you can make skin colour by mixing yellow, red, and brown together add white at the end the coarser the paper, the more color it can hold however, this is still a 200gram paper you can color it twice at most. if you do more the paper will swell if you want it to hold more water and color you’ll have to use 300gram paper there’s a tecnique that i use when i was a student And now we’re going to use that technique again Because this paper can only be colored twice we’re going have to use colored pencils to draw on features that we want to highlight the technique of drawing with watercolor, poaster color, or any paint and then using colored pencils to highlight it’s a technique that’s suitable for beginners fluid paint may be hard to control colored pencils are much easier to control If you want to make sure that your work is “salvagable” you should select papers that can be use with colored pencils you can be quite careless with this paper because it’s so cheap it’s coarse on both sides that means you can paint on both sides and thirdly. Don’t worry about wasting paper because the paper comes from renewable tree farms they plant new trees as soon as they cut one down so you don’t have to feel guilty about it because back when i first started drawing people would come up and complain about wasting paper aRn’T yOu WaStiNg ThE tRees?!!11 drawing like this now we can tell em that we’re up to FS standarts don’t tell me bout no trees karen after painting, these papers can be kept for a very long time they don’t get moldy or desintegrate for no reason but you will have to watch out for cockroaches especially when using poster paint cockroaches love eating poster paint so if you want to keep your work for a very long time make sure you put them in a bug-proof box the paper itself will be fine but insects will destroy your painting Store them well. when it comes to drawing paper you can use pencil, pen, and ink i will show you by drawing with a pencil and with a colored pencil as well most people who do drawings are usually taught to draw with EE pencils but in reality, there’s many level of intensity to choose from from 7H all the way to 9B some people may never seen penciles with this kind of intensity before i feel like it help save my wrist from too much strain in the past, i only use 4B when i do drawing and i ended up with an inflamed wrist bacause i was pressing too hard That’s all for today for reviewing equipment for super beginners That’s all for today folks see you in the next one. Bye Bye!!
