Are Facebook Ads Still Effective in 2019 – WP The Podcast EP 482

hosts David Blackman and Tim Strifler. Hey everybody. Welcome to another episode of WP, the Podcast
brought to you by WP Gears. I’m David Blackman. And I’m Tim Strifler. Today on episode 482 we’re going to talk about
whether or not Facebook ads are still effective in 2019 and the short answer is, absolutely. Is it different and a little bit more difficult? Yes. It’s not as easy as it was last year or even
a couple of years ago and we’re going to tell you why. Yeah. And I think a good way to kind of explain
this is, anytime there’s a new platform where there is hundreds of thousands, millions of
users, billions of users, it becomes a great place to market. So advertisers, marketers will go and they’ll
run and they’ll start promoting and everything. Then eventually, it’s going to get saturated
because everyone else is doing it. So whenever there’s any type of new marketing
tool, so for example messenger bots. They’re still kind of all the rage but definitely,
like that year they blew up everyone. Maybe even 2017, 2018 everyone was going crazy
over them and they were really effective. However other marketers have stated that they’re
not as effective as they were in the beginning because users have gotten used to it. They’re tuning them out, not subscribing. The open rates have dropped. So that’s kind of how, the same thing with
Facebook ads. Facebook ads, originally they had so many
users and all the different interests targeting and stuff like that, that you could do Facebook
ads and it was really easy but now because there’s so many advertisers on there it’s
become a little bit saturated and so it’s not as effective as it used to be but it still
is effective if you know the right things to do, the right ways to market and so forth. Absolutely. I couldn’t agree more and I don’t there’s
much more I need to add to it. The bottom line is, Facebook ads are definitely
still effective. You’re just going to have to get a little
bit more creative than you were before. In my opinion there’s two things that can
help make your ads more effective. Video, and the second thing is content. So everyone wants to promote a paid product,
promote a free product. Promote a free piece of content and your Facebook
