4 ways to write Google ad copy that converts | Adsoup Insights EP#26


There’s a good chance that the first time
someone encounters your brand will be on Google. Its where people go when they are specifically looking for a product or service. They want answers and they want them fast. My name is Benjamin, this is Adsoup Insights, and here are Four Ways to Write Google Ad Copy that Converts. Because you have less than a second to capture the attention of someone searching on Google, your ad’s micro-copy has to be informative, interesting, and inspiring. I’ll tell you how to do that with 4 Ways to Write Google Ad Copy that Converts. Let’s get started with – Number One, Be Specific: Google only allows thirty characters for your headline and eighty characters for your description. That means you’ll need to get straight to
the point in order to grab a user’s attention and convince them that your ad is relevant to their search. The best way to do this is to know what your customers are searching for, and provide the answer immediately. I’m not talking about the product you will
eventually sell them. I mean, what are they literally typing into the Google search bar? Find out what key words your customers are searching and match your micro-copy to their phrasing. Use these key words in your ad’s title and
repeat them again in the first few lines of copy. This reinforcement will assure the user that your ad is relevant. Number two, Match User Intention
Besides matching keywords, you also need to consider the intention behind the phrasing. Put yourself in the shoes of your potential
customer. If you were to type “best massage parlor”
into Google, the word “best” probably indicates you are in the consideration stage of the buyer’s journey. You can still move them to the conversion
stage by getting them to click on your ad. In that case, an ad title suggesting a comparison such as “10 Best Massage Parlours” might be more enticing than the first ad that claims to be “the best”. If the user’s intention is to find out more
information, a great way to respond is with – Number Three, Use Numbers
People love numbers because they are specific. If you have the best price, name it. If you can
deliver in twenty-four hours, use that number! Numbers give the user clarity about what they can expect. Take this video for example. The title is “Four Ways to Write Google
Ad Copy That Converts”. The number four tells you that this video
isn’t going to take up much of your time, but it also promises more than one way of solving the problem at hand. Finally that brings us to –
Number Four, Be inspiring: Make your ad stand out from the crowd by being creative with your copy. Power words like “now”, “faster” and
“best” create a sense of urgency and can increase conversions by up to twelve per cent. Create a simple call to action that inspires
people to choose your ad over all others. Users turn to Google when they want information fast. Win conversions by providing the most
direct route to what they want. Write Google Ad copy that is specific and
